Middleburg wildlife control tip of the month:
Will the city or county animal services help me with a raccoon issue?
So you have a raccoon wandering around your property and you are wondering what to do about it. They can be awfully pesky and it is perfectly understandable if you wish to try to keep them off of your property. They are troublemakers who tear apart whatever they get into, and they carry a great deal of disease. It is not only a desire for Middleburg animal trapping to get rid of them. It is an outright need.
Many look for ways to get rid of these creatures and wonder if they can get any assistance from their local city or county government to help them with their raccoon problem. The answer is – it depends. Let’s explain.
If you have captured a raccoon and need it to be picked up and taken to a wildlife preserve or county animal shelter, it is likely that you will get the assistance you need then from Middleburg animal control . Because raccoons can be as dangerous to the health of a community as a whole, it is likely that they will be willing to take the animal off of your hands. That is the good news.
The bad news is that if you are just calling because you have seen a raccoon then most likely you are not getting any assistance at all and should instead call Middleburg wildlife removal. Honestly, the local government does not have time and resources to be sending out a worker every time a raccoon is seen. In addition, these animals have just as much right to the land as anyone else. You may not like them on your property, but most are not a serious threat to you or your family, so there is no real need to remove them.
There is one exception to that however. If you see a raccoon that clearly looks like it is sick, then sMiddleburg exterminator will come out to try to capture the animal. Raccoons carry such illnesses as rabies, and if the animal looks like it could be carrying the illness and may cause a threat to the community then they have to act.
So how do you know if a raccoon has rabies or is sick? First off, if you see a foaming coming from its mouth, then it is likely to be sick. If you notice that it is walking like it is drunk, then it is likely sick as well. If you see that it looks confused, is bleeding, or is attacking animals or people, then it is time to call. You will get assistance then.
